Restorative dentistry is necessary when your smile has been damaged or has suffered some kind of trauma. Our dentist can restore your smile so you can enjoy the benefits of having a fully functional set of teeth again by completing one of the procedures mentioned below. Dr. Kacker is passionate about restorative dentistry and enjoys educating patients on proper care of their new set of teeth.
Adult Dentistry
Adult dentistry usually requires more extensive treatment since permanent teeth are to last a lifetime. For this reason, adult dentistry often requires tooth extraction. Our office specializes in adult dentistry, striving to make our adult patients, 45 and older, as comfortable as possible. Our dentist completes procedures like dental implants, dentures, gum disease, broken or missing teeth, extractions and root canals.
Periodontal Treatment
Periodontal disease, which is also known as gum disease, is an infection caused by bacteria that causes gum swelling which can damage soft tissues in your mouth as well as the supporting bone that maintains your teeth in place. If left untreated, the teeth will eventually fall out because of this. Swollen, red gums can also create a condition called gingivitis. If left untreated, gingivitis can become periodontitis causes gums to pull away from the tooth and may become infected. At that point, the tooth or teeth will need to be removed.
Symptoms of gum disease include:
- Bleeding while brushing or flossing
- Red, swollen, irritated or sensitive gums
- Bad breath
- Tooth loss
If you have any other symptoms above or believe that you may need periodontal treatment, visit our Westlake Village office as soon as possible.
Oral Cancer Screenings
Early detection and diagnosis by means of cancer screenings are helpful in preventing and treating oral cancer. With cancer screening, our dentist will observe abnormalities in soft tissues of the mouth and may discover non-apparent oral lesions. If the patient finds a sore lesion in the mouth which is not healing properly, such as pain, bleeding, otalgia or dysphagia, it’s time to visit our dental office to analyze the case. It’s a fast, easy, painless and effective procedure that will help you to treat the lesion at an early stage. Dr Kacker has appeared on several local news shows, explaining why having the cancer screenings is so important. Click on the videos to watch!
Dental Implants
Dental implants are permanent and very natural-looking solution to replacing teeth that have been lost or removed. Dental implants require no special treatment and can be cared for just like you would care for your natural teeth. Our Westlake Village dentist is experienced in dental implant placement, and can restore your smile so that you can have a fully functional set of teeth, once again.
Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment can often be painful, but at our Westlake Village office we take pride in delivering a comfortable and relaxing experience when having the procedure completed. Root canal treatment involves a tooth with infected pulp that needs to be removed and replaced with a filling. This procedure is often a result of gum disease, teeth grinding, trauma or decay. Tooth infection begins when the tooth has been damaged and begins to become infected. Usually in the early stages, no pain is noted by the patient. However, pain does usually become unbearable which is when many patients approach our office for root canal treatment.
